Back in the U.S.A (by Thom)

I wasn't planning on writing any updates while Amanda and I were in the states, but after talking with so many people I feel compelled to write something, even if it is just a word of "Thanks!"
We arrived back safely in the US after a long flight (is there any other kind?) and have been running around non-stop since. We've met with Bible study groups, churches, family members, and a whole lot of friends. Through it all, I've been reminded of how sovereign God really is. When I went to Burkina Faso on a short-term construction trip a year ago, I had no idea the journey would lead me to take my wife and move to Mali, West Africa as full-time missionaries. At the same time, I've seen trickle-down effects on those around us, and those around the other 9 guys on our trip to Burkina.
What I keep thinking, as we make the rounds here, is that I can't even begin to comprehend what God is doing with us. Please pray about that, and pray for those around us that we can have an impact for the name and sake of Jesus in Mali. We'll be there very soon. ETA: September 1st, 2005!
